Silent Ones

When the sky is dark, and the wind is cold,

And the rain comes down, fold on fold,

Remember us.  The Silent Ones.

In the numbness of the Earths tight hold.

You cannot see us, or hear us talk,

But right beside you we will walk.

We try to guide you, in all you do,

Sleeping, waking, dying too.

We’re your forgotten thoughts, your broken dreams,

Your pent up anger, and silent screams.

Your tears. Your smiles.  Your laughter too,

All in all, we’re what makes you.
