Silence in the Room

Seems like I’m living in this constant battle
Longing to sleep
But avoiding at all costs.

I want to go out and live
real life
While feeling so very lost.

My phone is playing music
Drowning out the silence
And the gloom,

But silence is all I hear
Alone at midnight
In the room.

I look out the window
The darkness is calling
From afar

All I can think of now
Is
Waking in a car.
