She was sweet once

She was sweet once

Someones little girl

Oh how she loved to smile and twirl

Until the floor was pulled from her.

She was sweet once

Someone's Angel

Until her wings were clipped mid-leap

Those who she loved raped her.

When she told they laughed and berated her.

She was sweet once

Unmarked, Not a blemish dared show

Now with tattoos like shields

She hides behind them so no one knows

She was sweet once.

We sit staring at her body

Cold from the freezer

Judging her choices

Like she chose this

No one chooses this

If we only knew

She was sweet once.
