She Saw Me Standing There

She was lying on the ground
Her blood flowing
Every nerve in my body cried out

Siren screams, my soul erupted into the night
And the beings retreated into the abyss
When I saw that, I ran to her

My aunt, my family
Even now, she inspired me to be my best

Still was the night
Terror was in my heart
And I was afraid to step one food forward
Never had I felt so afraid
Death was at my doorstep
Inner strength burst through
Nothing could stop me now
Growls closed in around me.

There was nothing I could do for her.
Her condition was not mine to heal
Every fall, every stumble meant more progression, more damage
Right then I grabbed her hand to pull her up
Eventually she opened her eyes

And she smiled.
