She
the song of everything i cannot say
singing in colors i cannot think upon, waves illuminated around me,
i sink in her breast, let my thoughts rest
unspoken words swim through me & out
in a rhythm i’m unfamiliar with
she
was beautiful, oh infinite love,
she
held, oh graceful voice
she
sang, oh heavenly
she
held me in dark nights til the sun came up,
made love to me when my skin was too cold to be touched,
dried up rivers that did not stream, but instead rose into collapsing oceans,
she
was the earth-made bank that secured my emotions
was the earth-made bank that held me up high,
no matter the height of the tides,
no matter the pain I would hide,
in those songs
she
sang me love I had lost,
my mind, became numb from too much love,
my love was too much
my love, was not enough
like a crack fiend,
i fiended for a love like
she
who was always enough
to take me higher, than those drugs could,
gave me more than any boy ever would,
i fell for her and continue deeper every night
as her arms wrap around me
but not too tight
and her voice engraves kisses upon my skin,
even in silence I hear the echo of her breathing,
whispering into my ear notes in the wind,

she

is
music.
