Shards of Glass

You leave me
Then try to come back
Again and again
Stabbing into me with shards
And wrenching them out
Again and again
You stab them in my back
Piercing through my heart
Again and again
The glass leaves shards beneath my skin
And I have to peel it off to begin
Again and again
You take that glass from a broken bottle
And twist in
Again and again
Causing me to curl deeper into myself
Until I feel nothing
Again and again
You take the glass from the mirror
Distorting the image you don't want to see
Again and again
Puncturing my heart
Shredding my soul
Again and again
Every time your jabbing moved deeper
Until I was done and said
Never again
