Shall I Sing a Song?

What would I give to change the world

To make it a better place?

Shall I sing a song

And pass it along?

Hoping to make someone’s day.

Should I be rid of all the poison

And stop all of this corruption?

Be the voice to hear but,

Soon to be silent.

The knives will cut

The guns would shot

Leaving one in dread

To mourn the dead.

I shall hold an open hand

Letting them hold on

To be there for them when they are gone.

I will help with what I can

Even though I am limited.

I will have open arms and a caring heart

The heart can only beat for so long.

I’ll bring us closer hand in hand

And end this chaos in the land.
