Sewn Lips
Speaking
Words fall out of mouths
Rapid decent
Never hitting dirt.
Others mouths are sealed
Tight for fear of

Into rejection, despair
My lips are sewn together
With string
So tight I can't swallow
I try to take the stitches out
Scissors, knives, fire
Nothing works
Reaching out,
No one notices 'cause
My lips are sewn
Not moving
Envious of others who
Speak so freely.
Words are
Drops of sunlight
So close but
Forever out of reach.
I can almost taste
The sweetness
The lemony feel of noises
Surrounding, drowning
Me.
The silent one.
The one with sewn lips.
