Sentimental Senior

Every scent, brings up a memory,

Of our childhood, our past, our little history

I've been drowning in nostalgic dreams,

Of how we all just used to be,

How we were all so trusting, and kind,

How laid back, and at ease, in our mind,

The world was only just beginning,

And now we are only ending,

Our entire lives, we've spent nestled together,

Growing with or without one another, but we are tethered,

We all shared the same teachers, same classes,

And yet I'm guilty wishing that no one passes,

I'm ready to step a foot out to an adventure, a new formed path,

But it saddens me to see you unshackled from me, so soon, so fast,

I'll always carry them all with me,

That heavy sack, of memories.

Our little wishes, our playtime, our shared daydreams,

We were each other's first beginnings,

And though, we are now parting,

Our new lives, are only just starting
