Senseless

The speed of the different cars
Mock the grace and sound of the
Restless ocean
As they drift along the bend of the highway
Although far from the sea
This sound is peaceful enough for me
So I lay my head back
And gently close my eyes
My breath calms
My mind relaxes
My body goes numb
For now I am at peace
I slowly drift off into dream
There I am
Rising on to my feet
Running
Jumping
Laughing
Being free
Humming
The sound of the ocean
The waves
They crash closer
And closer
My pulse awakes
A shocking thrill sneaks up my spine
All of a sudden a horn blares
Tires skid
My eyes flash open to take in a bright light before me
The sound of the ocean is gone
The ocean is gone
Everything is gone
And now, so am I.
