Self Empowerment

They looked at me seeing crazy

You look at me seeing nothing

But my loved ones say I matter

I join music and play my feelings

They call me weird and nerdy

You see passed me to the others

But my feelings say you matter

I can’t be like them

I want to but I won’t change for this

Too late…. I spoke too late

I changed for this

Heels to school, pain for beauty

Everything hurts and I get

More ignorance from others not to want more

Than a look my way from you

But my mind says you matter

As I walk my head falls

As I ran my face dried

When I stopped I realized

They stopped

My ideal beauty changed

I was no longer too late

I realized, I matter

I realized you don’t matter

I am powerful

I am beautiful

I am more than the ones you saw

I am a temple that is irreplaceable

I matter
