Self-Destruction

Location

Time and time again,

These porcelain pieces prowl across the board,

Strategizing,

Circumventing.

And once one has gained the advantage,

Should the other not accept it's fate?

Should the other not give in to the opposing will?

Instead of giving nature it's fill,

Human instinct would have us

Remove ourselves.

Constructing this cycle of Self-Destruction;

Resetting this game without external combustion.

But is it worth it?

I would much rather see my fate,

After my valiance in battle,

Than send myself to a self-deprecating reality.

So, I stand tall and face my fate,

No matter the opposition,

No matter the competition,

I will see my fate 'til the end.

Scorch me.
