Seekers

Seekers

Mat. 6: 25

“Be not anxious about your life ... seek first

the kingdom of God and His Righteousness”

My life, here we go again ... “my” shows the main attraction.

Self in love and self in pride and that is just a fraction.

Self-centered hits home pretty well ... self-seeking underscores

the all of me, the selfish ... who lives for his own satisfaction.

That is what I need to give up and it does not sound like much.

Why can’t I let go ... of that bag full of decay?

Under girded by lies and sleaze and all the junk like that.

Depravity at its finest ... did I choose to be its slave?

With my mind filled with this and the bag in my hand,

how do you expect me ... to see the Kingdom of God?

At my birth He made me such ... as one who long forgot

perfection in the Highest ... to be placed in lonely slot.

His righteousness I see ... Jesus that must be.

His Life I understand ... when He shows it to me.

He will set me free ... if such I want to be.

The bag now in His Hand ... depravity now must flee.
