Galatians 5:17          New English Translation

17 For the flesh has desires that are opposed to the Spirit, and the Spirit has desires that are opposed to the flesh, for these are in opposition to each other, so that you cannot do what you want.

Romans 8:16          New English Translation

16 The Spirit himself bears witness to our spirit that we are God’s children.

My outer-man knows little about my inner-man

They have nothing in common except that they appear as one

One is just a vessel and the other is for the substance

That the vessel is holding like a jar filled to the brim

We seem to belong together, but that is just temporal

For what you see before you, is not at all what you get

An appeasing label like a colorful splattered mural

Tastefully decked out but basically scattered in the text

The inner-man is different for he is one with Christ

Seated in our Savior and next to the “All in All” resides

The light I carry enters the caverns of my mind at times

In the dead-end streets of reason, where my outer-man confides

Is it any wonder that the “my-light” seems lost at times?

Can my mind drag down my spirit once it is redeemed?

My spirit just isolates at times for it needs perfect freedom

As though floating through the air where victory is found

As intuition finishes and our thoughts are heaven bound
