Sea Wonders

 Sea Wonders

A small ship’s raw wood is

dampened by saltwater,

its sweet scent mingles with

the tranquil night breeze.

The sea weaves and howls;

it swells into waves and tides,

pushing gray ovoid oysters

against picturesque coral reefs.

The commanding sea before you

ministers the windburned seamen.

Small ships carved from oak

sail by faded blue backdrops.

Diaphanous golden shells then

open for the sand like offerings.
