Sea

        lifted

I am          and

                     swayed

Brought back to the sandy shore.

I feel the impact of the water

And I spar with the force

A hopeless battle, but savoring the fight nevertheless.

I see crystals

                   mixed

            together

                            in

                       a

             sparkling elixir

Holding life and mystery

As the waves tease me and poke me

      with quick kisses

             and fast punches.

The water morphs from blue

                                           to green,

                                                      dark

                                                           to light

                                                    A cascade of life.

I am entranced

By its shades, variance,

              power.

I feel the water                   pulling the ground from underneath my feet

Daring me to stay in one spot.

It beckons me towards newness

           Deeper

                      into uncertain,

          changing

                 depths.

I dig

        into the sand

And uncover the bones of the sea,

A beautiful medley in colors and shapes and textures.

I release the sand

And the water takes what it owns.

I lay in the sand and waves come around me

They lift me and pull me in

A hug

       An embrace

               A home.

I let the waters take me

And give in to the fight I do not want to win.

Who am I to call

A gift

     to the sea

         Something

                Which it already owns?
