The Schism

You’re a bit lost now

I once received

A ridiculous notion

I temporarily believed

Soul oppression, it did achieve

What about career and houses

Haven’t you the thirst?

Well of course I do,

But don’t you need a foundation first?

And a job? Well, what about the rhymes I spell?

What about the stories I tell?

Ah the bullshit, I cannot quell

And what about all this knowledge?

Think it just came from my milky porridge?

What do you have?

What do you do?

Well I have a personality,

And a character too

And I see right through you...

Any Ambition?..

Ambition, yes...but what about creativity?

What about spirituality?

Ya know? knowing a human in all of it’s totality..

Cos let me tell ya something

You’re judgements and criticisms

Are akin to a form of brutality

But now I rise.

With eloquence and vehemence

Slick lyricism and dry witticism,

No cynicism, healing the schism

Lost? Nah...

I know the pieces fit.

On to anger I no longer hold

For they have a similar background

Or so I’m told..

They been manipulated, mind controlled

Mass media, ah the bullshit they feed ya

We see right through ya

Soul corruption, mind pollution,

All illusion

No cure, no solution

Need help, I’ll listen

Cos I understand what’s been missing

Don’t mind society

And it’s petty hissin’
