Scattered Details

Early morning light

Casts down on a group of teens

All writing haikus

Orange and black flut-

Tering then still upon a

Green sunlit clover

Hovering close by

Wings are a fast blur; unseen

By anyone’s eyes

Folded and resting

No disturbances around

All is quiet here

A clover stands tall

Above the rest. It is jeweled,

Speckled with dewdrops.

Looking for a place.

Buzzing and hovering here

And there. No dry spot.

Murky mystery

Children wading and searching

Found a dead crayfish

Delighted squealing.

Bright smiles and bright candles. Go

Ahead, make a wish.

Wisps of pink streaked through

A sky dominated by

A glowing red sun

Drooping eyes struggling

To catch one last glimpse of a

Conscious, restless world
