Pillar box red lipstick gave the child much needed age
Seat belts could not restrain her
She fell to jungle fever’s rage-
Addictive and consuming
Late nights spent among flashing lights created change
Cherry vodka burned a scalded throat

She returned dismally to clean-cut perfection
Sharp angles in a broken mirror
Life lost in translation
Seventeen years cherished, one lost to habit
A red-head called out in desperation
She ended in a beautiful, tragic manner
