Say No to domestic Violence

Location

Nigeria

She was my beautiful friend filled with so much life, dreams and aspirations
The signs were so evident but she won't speak of it to anyone
It was the pain, the anguish, and the distant look in her eyes
The bruises also said it all, but she won't speak of it to anyone
How can she make an open show of her lover?, she must have said to herself
But I knew this lover has turned to a beast tormenting her with his fists
How does punching plus slapping equal to love? I keep wondering
But now it's too late to regret
Too late to wish
Too late to hope
Too late to cry
As his incessant beating has drained the life out of her
And my tears won't bring her back six feet above the ground
