Saudade

Saudade

By: Sydney Johnson

A feeling

of melancholy,

longing or

nostalgia

It seeps into

the deep crevices

of your

memory

Hitting you harder

than any other

feeling you've

ever felt

You use

your strength to

escape from the

endless nightmare

Yet, the exit

you try to take

leads you back

to the start

Every bone

in your body

shifts you into

complete shock

Shivers take a

calm stroll

down your

spine

Nerves push

themselves to

kick into

gear

Thoughts will

start to have full

blown conversations

in your head

And then,

it all comes

together in

the end

The state

of remembrance

The state

of love

The state

of happiness

The state

of your own characteristic

The state

of “saudade”
