Sappy Sonnet

I love you like a sickness deadly sweet

The golden arrow’s poison seeping through

Into my head and heart and hands and feet

And there is not a remedy for you

Your casual glance can set my heart aflame

A simple word can wipe my every thought

And since I’ve barely even spoke your name

I think about you more than prob’ly ought

I wish that I’d not fallen quite so fast

I actually didn’t want a crush at all

And yet I find me wishing I could ask

For you to see and catch me as I fall

No matter what I do or what I say

I’m glad that I still know you anyway
