Sappy

Because I love you, waking up in the morning is easier. You make rainy days meaningful, cold days warm, and plain days a little less empty. Because I love you, I have something to look forward to. I have a future to look forward to, a warm bed to look forward to, and just days that I see you to look forward to. Because I love you, I have learned to be a better person. My at one time lack of patience has become me patiently waiting for you to stop hogging the bathroom, staying up a little too late to help you with a difficult homework assignment, and being a little more patient when you’re in an irritable mood. Because I love you, August 29th is no longer just another summer day. It’s the day that you came into this world, and now it’s a holiday to me. Because I love you, I don’t mind when you steal all the blankets. I don’t mind when you take the last of the leftovers that I thought about all day (and because you love me you let me have the last of the leftovers sometimes too.)Because I love you, we argue. We argue over small things like me not wanting to make the bed or where to go out to eat or when we haven’t seen each other in a while. But because I love you, I forgive you. And as long as we love each other we’ll always forgive each other. I would rather swallow my pride and make up than hold onto a grudge and go to bed angry at each other. Because I love you, I am never lonely. You’re my best friend in the whole world and I know that you won’t ever let me down. I have a shoulder that I can always cry on, a person to depend on, and someone who will always laugh at my jokes even when they’re not funny. Because I love you, you’ve given me purpose. And I don’t want to live a second without you.
