The Man who shot is not the name to remember

When horror came to the fourteenth of December

America is bleeding, our hearts are torn

As we think of the children we now mourn

Because that wasn't enough, six more heroes had to die

These are the reasons for tears in our eye

We cry for the twenty-six mothers who picked up the phone

And recieved the haunting call that their children weren't coming home

We watched the news and our faces turned grey

As we saw anxious parents gathered in a fray

Now there are sanctuaries for twenty-six terrific angels

And flags fly at half-staff, a forever daunting angle

Some may get angry, others are in agony

Nevertheless our hearts are heavy, for this American tragedy.
