The Sandman - From Lonely Road (My 5th Book)

Wed, 05/25/2016 - 15:46 -- Meely

He comes into your room,

And lights it up with his gold dust,

Upon your head, he ruffles your hair,

And fills your mind with happy thoughts,

His brother is a darker soul,

He wears the cloak of forgotten hopes,

And whispers nightmares in your ears,

Filling you with the seven deadly sins,

The sandman protects you when he can,

But there are so many people in the world,

He holds you close and hopes that,

His brother picks another tonight.

For the sandman is illuminating,

But his brother hides the truth,

The sandman puts your thoughts on reigns,

Whereas your nightmares just run wild.

The sandman wants to love you forever,

But his brother doesn’t allow,

For he knows of the evil inside you,

And the sandman doesn’t have a clue,

About what we really are.
