Sad Angel

Let your death be symbolic of the tortured souls that trudge below your hanging corpse;

May we never forget the day on which we watched an angel suffer on the gallows;

Let your soul live on in grace;

May your pure sacrifice torture your executioners as it has tortured us;

Let our memory be a witness to the horrors of Nazi Germany;

May your soul learn to laugh, to play;

Let your soul be delighted now that you are gone from this cruel world;

May you be exalted and joyful in the heaven that surely awaits you, my golden angel;

Let all your mother’s tears be dried by your angel hands;

May your father always feel your embrace through the cruelty of time, and the cold of space;

Let all who loved you hear your sweet voice in their darkest times;

May you see those you loved once more;

Let not your angel heart be troubled;

May you know that you, our sad eyed angel, did the right thing;

Let you live on endlessly in our memory;

May you guard your fellow men so that what has happened to you won’t happen to them;

Let you stay always in our hearts;

May you always realize that it took a little child, you, to show us the severity of our world’s problems;

Let us learn the lesson that you tried to teach us;

May we live out all that you wish for us;

Let us never forget the horrors that you saw;

May we be able to know about standing for the right no matter what that is;

Let us not be fearful;

May we all be true;

Let the world discover what it’s lost;

May the faith we had before come back, sealed in your sacrifice;

Let this little sad eyed angel become a child for once;

May our children find the innocence that never graced this angel;

Let us learn innocence for ourselves;

May we drown all gallows away in sad memory of what has happened this day;

Let the world learn of the sad angel so that this never happens again;

May we tell the world of the sadness and the hunger;

Let us know truth for ourselves;

May we forgive our captors and tormentors for everything that this angel saw and heard;

Let us thank our liberators, and know that we are never truly alone;

May our children know about our gethsemane;

Let us never be cruel to little children like our sad angel;

May we have the courage to stop criticizing our brothers and sisters;

Let us protect one another throughout anything that could hurt them;

May we always be there for one another;

Let us REMEMBER;

May you always stay golden;

Let us learn to love as our sad eyed angel child did.
