Runner's High

The purple and dark night sky
Transcends into the time that a runner opens her eyes
The cool brisk wind against her skin
Embracing the movement of her body and the wind
The crickets and birds are now awakening,
Chirping and squeaking create a peaceful enabling
In unison her breaths are at ease
With the ruffling of leaves from the gentle breeze
Each step she takes either high or low
Just like hills and mountains
Representing the strength she needs in order to grow
Cuts in her legs from the prickling branches
Only to finish in a cloud made of plains of grasses
The flowers and butterflies are a picture of beauty
Smelling of memories and regaining hope in her reality
So sweet, so pure, so quiet
How could anyone make this practice a diet?
The sun hovers over her as she gazes at the celeste sky
Defining her purpose as the clouds float by
