Rumors

Proverbs 6:16-19

16 These six things the Lord hates,
Yes, seven are an abomination to Him:
17 A proud look,
A lying tongue,
Hands that shed innocent blood,
18 A heart that devises wicked plans,
Feet that are swift in running to evil,
19 A false witness who speaks lies,
And one who sows discord among brethren.

Rumors

They travel light at the speed of sound

and stir the waters of contemplation.

A vacuum follows to stir the dust

and no proof is needed for retaliation.

The mind absorbs parts of it,

the parts used in its degradation.

It will not forget and take to heart

the side that screams for participation.

For good or bad all rumors shout

that without truth in humiliation.

They trigger fear and hope alike

to move strength into stagnation.
