Rosa Parks

A day on a bus,
Just like any other in the year 1955,
‘Separate but equal’ for white and black.
After a long day of work,
A bus ride home.
Being asked to give up her seat,
For the difference of skin color.
She refused.
Arrested and later released on bail,
She had paved the way,
This was the foundation.
Foundation for a movement
Of people,
Of justice,
Of morality.
A boycott began,
A leader was chosen.
And from the simple choice
to stand against,
rose something greater
than was intended,
but obligatory.
