When I was 12 I rode my first roller coaster
It was massive and gleaming in the sun
People were waiting in this long line for a roller coaster that may not be fun
I gave into peer pressure and waited in that long, and patient filled line
he closer we got to the ride the more fearful I became, was I ready for this
Hopeful that the ride was worth in the end
Closer I got to the ride the more fearful I became, was I ready for this
Soon I was in the front of the line
My hands were sticky and my mouth became dry
I was nervous
My 20 seconds of courage was almost
My last courage-filled act was to sit in the front row
I almost backed out but I am no chicken
I am a big girl and I can do anything I chanted
And I believed
The rollercoaster was AMAZING
It was worth the wait in the end
It had it's highs and lows, twist and turns, and flips
That is what draws people in to ride roller coasters
Because this roller coaster is called Life
Humans are drawn to challenges because we have a desire to overcome our fears and prevail in the end
Once we believe in ourselves with our 20 seconds of courage we can all tackle our Roller coasters no matter how big or small
Cause the end result makes the ride worthwhile.
