Ripped Apart

This is the worst puniment,

Not being able to see you,

They wanted me to repent,

But it was something I couldn't do.

This wasn't part of my plan,

You weren't meant to get hurt,

So when I took a stand,

It was my face slammed in the dirt.

This can't end like this,

My heart can't bear the pain,

For it yearns for one more kiss,

But to them my heart has no claim.

This is painful,

To know where you are,

To feel this pull,

But you're too far.

This is killing me,

Knowing you're somewhere out of reach,

But you've set my heart free,

Because love isn't something they teach.

This story isn't over,

It can't be done,

Because of one lover,

Because you're the one.
