Remember Me
Remember me,
A black woman,
Of West Indies descent,
Remember me,
A black woman,
With billows of coarse kinky hair,
Remember me,
A black woman,
With the body of an enchantress ,
Remember me,
A black woman,
With wisdom that goes beyond man…
Remember me.
A black woman.
You come from me,
And yet you despise me,
You treat me terribly,
Even though you like the idea of being me,
And the support I give you…
So why don’t you love me,
Are my traits not enough,
Is my support not enough,
Do you remember me?
A Black Woman?
