Why do I write?

When things are not alright

I'm full of fright

Yet trying to be polite

Thus, I keep it all inside

Wallowing in my own pride

But it all shows in my stride

I hope that you don't mind.

In this kind of society,

People fight sobriety,

Since they struggly with anxiety,

But me, and others, cope with expression

Through art, and reflection

In order to get through it all.

Stress is a number one killer,

it truly is a thriller,

since its quite the filler.

So why do I write?

I write to release tension.

To express my retention

of feelings and thoughts,

That go into this box,

Where I can feel safe again.
