Red white and blue

There's a flag that waves in the air, it shines, above our heads it tells us of our freedom,

It is our story, our history, the very thing that sets us apart with our independence,

But when I asked my grandfather he told me, "Freedom isn't free."

there's a lot to be lost with a country like ours, believers in democracy,

with independence, the rights and liberties and justice for all,

But just like our story we should be told, "Freedom isn't free."

The rivers run red with blood we do not see, parents and brothers and sisters fight for us,

Off in foreign lands, on foreign soil, fighting for our rights,

Because "Freedom isn't free."

They say civilian life is harder than a soldier's, because out there you know where you stand,

Out here is chaos and torment, harder than a soldier's life,

"Freedom isn't free."

We forget that sometimes, but we owe them soldier's a favor,

We owe them a thank you, and anything else,

Because "freedom isn't free."

Freedom isn't free.
