Rain Walk

Near the hazy streetlamps

Shrouded by the storm,

I walk down the street

Head down, boots splashing in puddles,

Thinking only of the next dry place.

As frosty mist wraps around me,

I wish for a warmer coat,

The Rain‒

booming, rumbling,

thundering sky‒

Shelters and stifles

The Life‒

talking, honking,

fleet-footed city‒

Until only the droplets

Splattering on my umbrella exist.

I chance a glance through the fog of the world,

And look up to see

Rain reflected through globes of light,

Shining out into the night

As a rainbow, leaving color and life swirled.
