RAGE

glassy eyes
zombie stride
every day
same old daze
this conundrum of sort
no choice to abort
organized education
my means for medication

oh what a place
i come to each day
to broaden my mind
and expect to find
such profound knowledge
strategically taught
but after high school
the knowledge gained must be bought

you pay lots of money
to stamp a title on your head
we’re taught it’s the one way
to keep you both fed and in a bed
poor thing can’t afford such a matriculated education
so here’s to minimum wage as your forever occupation

in life you need
money
connections
and vanity
this filthy world
where no one has sanity

the mental in power
the stable locked up
look me in the eyes
tell me this isn’t fucked up

we never realize
what’s being pulled over our heads
this naïve generation;
with miscommunications
where most act out to be brain dead

a time bomb ticking
is it not sickening
to believe what we’re taught
and never once stop
to question what’s learned
and ponder on thoughts

a never ending cycle
obliteration of hope
slowly losing all our rights
since they have us on chains and ropes

they feed us these lies
ignore our cries
criticize our size
alter the perception perceived with the eyes
screwing with the mind
over a course of time
like an ongoing rhyme
and never doing what promised

can we think on our own
eventually claim throne
overthrowing the power
forgetting what cowards
they’ve turned us in to be
from ongoing consistency
teaching obedience
so we never question the law

is a rebellion forthcoming
morals destroying
america’s capitalist dogma
nothing gained from dhali lama
all focus on obama
or that terrorist osama

are we fighting for this country or
do we just like war
what are we at war for
i have no idea anymore

this corrupted country
filled with sin
a never ending sickness
when might it end

so much feed
which claims that we’re free
a fabricated lie
that when known is stimuli
for the sighs and cries
to which we all voice
until we’re shut down by
the makers of choice

creativity doesn’t matter
especially in school
structure is key
to them we’re all fools

standardized testing
to which they think makes sense
this head of education
i believe to be a bit dense

we straighten the curvy
fixing everyone’s kinks
but find it offensive
when us ourselves are critiqued

maybe i’m wrong
and this is all fake
my imaginations coping
a place where i take
a means of escape

since you’ve filled my mind
with what you want me to know
i figure it’s about time
that i show

possessing intelligence
can’t be shown though a test
you ignorant bunch who wonder why our country isn’t best

if i told you
what went on
at my school
means would be taken
to make many a new rules

it truly is sad
we aren’t given the chance
to show such talents
because education isn’t free-lanced

don’t get me wrong i appreciate the fact
i have such opportunity
to get a high school diploma on my back
but i see the cons and ongoing negativity
that most either ignore or avoid when given the availability
to expose the corrupt and hate of this land
where all we care about is supply and demand

you’re told the expectations
never asked to stop and think
all those years of college knowledge
to a landfill they sink

how does it feel
to live a life
so corrupt that you act
as your own sacrifice
