My feet are tired and my day was long
The weight of this world I feel in my bones
All I want is a quiet ride back home
With no fuss or fighting not even a song

Don’t ask me to move from my seat
I’m am human like you with a heart beat
I won’t be moved with a threat or fear
I’ll stand my ground through fighting tears

I paid my fare for a peaceful ride
I’m not being defiant with foolish pride
Just take me home is all I ask
The request is simple, fair and a small task

Why should I move to the back of the bus?
Due to preconceived ideas or mistrust
Judge me by my character not my color
I’m no different from you or any other

If you move me I promise to fight
I will stand up for my civil rights
Special favors or trouble is not the intent
I just want the same rights and equal treatment
