Pyramus and Thisbe in High School

Sat, 09/21/2019 - 17:21 -- OKGUSS

Pyramus, the neighbor he,

From through the window saw Thisbe.

As such, their tale of love began,

Their tale of misery.

Their friends, they warred,

One group marred,

By words; the other, filled with judgement.

The two thus sparred.

Yet, fascination claimed his heart

Though he felt a world apart,

He saw a sweet note through the window.

The sparks flew; they’d found their counterpart.

At first the notes sufficed.

As time went on, with words they sliced,

Each other.

So to a meeting, they were enticed.

However, romance is not easy.

Thisbe’s friends turned rather sleazy.

They took her phone and wrote to him with hate.

His stomach turned queasy.

As such, he retorted with hateful words.

She responded the venom wasn't hers.

He said the bridges had to burn.

Thisbe stood speechless, in a trance.

Then, took her leave in turn.

And so that was the end of their “star crossed” romance.
