Purpose

Job 42:1-2

42 Then Job answered the Lord:

“I know that You can do all things;
no purpose of Yours can be thwarted;

Flowers blooming in their season ... they understand signs of the times

For a day or two bringing glory to dress up God’s well chosen shrine

There are no walls here to contain and hide the beauty that is Thine

Unrestricted and free to be now what their Creator had in mind

Limitations set by mind and flesh have little influence in the span of time

A flower really knows it best that only one can be its appointed rhyme

It seems that few things ever rest having no clue about the sublime

Except the flowers pass the test to bring love and beauty without paradigm

No restrictions and the un-afflicted reaching for the sky

Where the Hand reaches down to stroke also gently

Never asking or wondering for the reason why

Just accepting its chosen role supplied permanently

To live in full obedience never to question

To let the Lord be what He desires in us

To hunger to be delivered from stony heart’s bastion

And to be come more like Christ ... is that too much?
