Proud

She didn't fake a smile today.
Nor did she say anything about going away.
Instead she laughed away
And only had happy things to say.

She sang at the top of her lungs;
I don't think she's ever had so much fun.
Not giving a care,
If someone had a snide comment to share.

She even danced under the stars
And in the headlights of the car.
She was having the time of her life,
Under the beautiful moonlight.

I'm not sure what happened that day.
I don't know how she managed to let go.
But I'm just glad that for once,
She never felt so low.

I was glad for that one day
She was able to be happy and free.
I am proud of me.
