promises

Location

It was like yesterday that

You promised to change.

The promises you keep telling

Me stay, but the wind took it

Away from you.

Everything you touch turn to

Ashes.

The first time you went to

Jail for hurting somebody

To the first time, I saw you

Take that pill to the first day

You enter that group.

Everything change for the

Worst.

I love you, but the promises

You keep telling me

Where are they now?

I want you to come back

Because this is killing me.

Every word turn to ashes

Every touch was painful

Every promise was never there

Every smile was a lie

Every lie was the truth

But every promise was

Nothing to you

But the world to me was

Your promises.

You always told me this

“Don’t fight for something that was never meant to be yours.”

But you always did and

Never left any of your

Promises to me in any paper.

Instead, you let them

To ride in the wind.

No more lies

No more promises not keep

No more nights wondering

What will happen tomorrow?

Every look was nothing

Every hug meant your pain

Every kiss was your hope

That you lost.

Every promise was a time of your past

Every song meant your struggle

Against all this….

Your pain, your gang, your addition,

Your gun, your drugs,

And your people.

This is your promise to keep

Me away from all this.

The promises that you keep

Telling me.

I no longer fell alive or in a

World that meant unharmed.

I still remember the first

Time you promise to change

For the better.
