Program Corrupt

Sit down, be quiet, look straight, be good.

Be compliant in a world full of compliance.

It’s a factory and we are the product,

Being expelled like toys on an assembly line.

Sit up straight, chin up, shoulders back, feet on the floor.

Destroy creativity and you destroy what differentiates us from one another,

What makes us individuals,

What separates us from the mass-produced toys that we create each and every day.

Be different, be interesting, see the world in a different way.

My dream job is to prevent the mindlessness,

To encourage imagination and creativity,

To give others a world they can escape to when they have nowhere else to turn.

Cut, scene, take two, take four.

My dream job is to create movies, but they aren’t just movies.

I want to create escapes, hopes, dreams and awareness,

Awareness of the beauty surrounding us that we never take the time to notice.

Sunsets, trees, flowers, families.

All are beauties we daily miss,

Coming home from work, going to the store,

Doing yard or house work that never seems to end.

They all take our attention from the true beauties of life, the beauties of individualism.

Stand up, be loud, look around, be yourself

Stray from the norm and be. Something. DIFFERENT.

Be creative and notice what companies and schools don’t deem important enough to program into our systems.

Get through college, become an apprentice, get hired, make something inspiring.

That is my dream job and how I’ll make it happen.

Changing others’ lives is how I plan to change mine,

Because after all, one life means nothing if it does nothing to benefit another.
