The Problem We All Lived With

Blood runs black eventually
quickly was the pace
that man found himself responsible
to put the other
in place

Who saw the sun
lash out with its ray
strike a hand against those
lesser
who could naught but pray

They struck a truce
decided through war
negotiated, alleviated
in blood
life for the future
and a road to follow

Back to the sun
a tongue will lash just as well
as guns and swords
fists
will keep the law if needed

Life can still be lived
in the blackest of mire
but not as a person
a stand will be taken

Strife

The ground is used to stains
but time has more to tell
than before
clouds would gather, but
something was brighter
mightier
love

So today
rejoice in this
love the same
though same is different
so that tomorrow we never see
the problem we all lived with
