Prince Severin: Out of the Coffin

Thu, 12/08/2016 - 18:20 -- Chez

Voices: happy, sad, and longing

Have all been whispered around my coffin.

Outside my coffin forged of tears

My story was long forgotten.

I heard all and remembered all

Of what the voices had to say,

And through the loyalty of a boy named Ben

I learned the length of a day.

I had been sleeping in there long;

I had lost all sense of time.

That is until the boy named Ben

Became a friend of mine.

Ben and his sister, Hazel,

Told me stories every day.

Tales of knights so full of bravery

Who always saved the day.

I fell in love with Ben

Over the years of secrets and stories.

Of course he did not know that,

He did not even know me.

I was saved from the coffin by Sir Hazel,

The noble knight by night.

It was through her that I was able

To get out of the coffin to fight.

I protected the humans;

We killed the Alderking,

But when all was said and done

I had the noble Sir Hazel to thank.

My father is dead,

My sister is happy,

And I am still alive.

It is to Ben and Hazel

That I will be forever grateful.

For together they have

Made my life whole.
