The Price of My Innocence

~The Price of My Innocence~You told me you loved meI had no reason to believethat you’d lie and deceive methe way you did with greed.I didn’t trust anyonefor a very long time and I still have trouble believing that people won’t lie.If I didn’t want to heal so badI think I might have died.I lost the person I used to beand felt so empty inside.Despite you I decidedThat I would be alright. It didn’t happen overnightbut gradually as time went by. I’ve used you as an exampleof who I do not want to be.A liar, a thief of hearts, who played head gamesto torture me.The stealing of my innocencetook a hard toll on my heart,my confidence and pride.Knowing how strong I’ve becomeI’m just grateful I’m alright.
