Pretending

Fri, 11/29/2019 - 21:49 -- A Finch

“Goodnight” I whisper,

Pretending you can hear me,

Pretending that you’re near me.

Oh If only you were...

Perhaps then I might be

a little less lonely tonight,

Feel love’s vivid delight.

With you here beside me.

But our hands never met,

Our eyes never spoke,

Lips never kissed,

And by myself I awoke.
