Poly Fortitude

Poly Fortitude

I am familiar with every sense of the word

Each rope cut

Each slit sewn shut

But the moon was purple tonight

The masked man came back

I know that he is always nearby

Singing his tune

I shall sing too

What do you think about leaving everyone we’ve ever known?

I am here to let you go

We can leave anytime just let me know

I know your feelings and I’ll make them alright

Pull me closer, but your skin is so tight

When will you open the door

The tappings my dear,

They happen every night

Doomed since the moment you were born

The angels sing each to each but they will never sing to thee

Pull and tug

Make your skin scream

Let me touch the wallows

Tear them farther

Let me swallow

The light will follow

A brain can only take so many cuts

Before that cloaked angel crawls

The pull of a screw

The red ribbons seeping through

Poly Fortitude

But the static, so loud

The words they are not sinking in

I cannot feel your loving touch

My skin is cold

My skin is blue

A mark upon the altar

Tree Roots swept under the psalter

Teeth scrape down my throat

I won’t need them anymore

Not when I have my undercoat

Whisper whisper, my roaring child

The clotting hole, the maggots chew

But the sweet nothings, once alone,

Cannot cling on, pursuing the wound

Scraping fingernails can no longer hold back the fight

For the moon is purple tonight

Flutter flutter

Suck Suck Suck

Your friends they all sing along

Oh how warm your room feels upon my palms

Oh how warm your room feels upon my palms

Hannah Taylor

This is a poem I wrote about battling with suicidal idealization.

Specifically, the personified version of suicidal thoughts, and what it feels like to give into him.
