A Poisonous Legacy

The snake tricked Eve

A mischievous bite at humanity

The tingling of its venom still runs in my veins

Luckily my parents led me to the Antidote

But I have to consume Him constantly

Every time I think I’ve gotten every drop of poison out-

I am overpowered by its forces again.

I can’t imagine what it is like for those who have no Antidote:

Such a festering accumulation

It’s a weird poison and its effects are endless.

Sometimes it makes me weary, and my soul scrapes across the filth of the

Ground as I walk, picking up ugliness as I go along

Sometimes it makes me angry, piercing me like a puppet master to throw daggers wildly at everything I come in contact with

Sometimes it makes me haughty, and I tilt my nose away from the filth

As if I have never made filth of my own

Never has a snake had such a lasting effect on humanity

Its evil has run through the blood of nearly every human on this earth.

All but three.

And oh how they suffered, how they were treated.

But my Mother will stomp on its head

The head of the only God-forsaken serpent that slithers this earth,

Well it and its serpentine henchmen.
