poison
poison disguised as candy.
how sweet and charismatic.
couldn’t get enough until--
sicker and sicker,
weaker and weaker,
sadder and sadder.
poison that left me dried out,
deflated, nothing left
painful, unraveling my thread.
my friends, they knew i was consuming
they tried to stop me but
they looked like the poison to me
poison disguised as love.
the taste i finally found
and i wanted every drop
