Poetry should be

As love is.

It should hold a single

Breath which tells all in

The space of a second when

There is no hope but for a gentle touch.

 

Poetry should be

Unselifsh

As love is.

It should have a deeper

Meaning to be heard in

The ears of all people, not

Just a way to tell your thoughts out loud.

 

Poetry should be

Unselfish

Caring

As love is. 

But if we don't know how

To be this, can we still write

Poetry? And why do we still insist

On doing things the selfish way?
